Talent Acquisition Function Review

Bright People were engaged to undertake a discovery exercise with the Organisations Resourcing team and stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of the current state, including pain points and opportunities for improvement, against good practice elements of an optimised Talent Acquisition function.

Situation

In the context of an increasingly tight labour market and significant increases in recruiting volumes due to a significant growth agenda for the industry, the Organisations Talent Acquisition function recognised the signs of suboptimal recruitment efficiency with the effect of poor Customer experience outcomes for the business, Hiring Managers and Candidates. Bright People were engaged to undertake a Discovery exercise to gain a deeper understanding of the current state, including pain points and opportunities for improvement, against good practice elements of an optimised Talent Acquisition function.

Solution

Bright People conducted a series of interviews, observations and a desktop review to finalise a detailed report for the Senior Leadership Team outlining current state findings and analysis, identification of pain points, challenges and prioritised opportunities. An improvement roadmap was also included providing clear direction and recommendations for improved delivery through development of a new organisation design including elements of process, technology, reporting, job design and capability. Our findings were presented to key stakeholders including the Leadership Team and Union representatives.

Outcome

The report findings and recommendations are expected to:
- Create clarity for and improve confidence of decision making on the required pathway towards improved efficiency, effectiveness and experience
- Provide the basis of a strong business case for a program of investment in capability, technology and process improvements

Bright People has been invited to support Phase 2 of this program of work which will involved leading the implementation of our recommendations.
